Customers are demanding, so fans have to learn to move through their tasks quickly but skillfully to appease everyone and make a profit. They put gas in customers' cars, but they also clean up the gas station, run the cash register, make vehicle repairs, and more. The player character in Gas Station Simulator is solely responsible for operating the entire business. RELATED: Valheim: Everything New in the Hearth and Home Update The Core Gameplay of Gas Station Simulator Gas Station Simulator is an odd bird, and its appeal is hard to explain, but it does seem to scratch a variety of itches for fans. Players have to be wary, though, because their uncle has high expectations for the player's performance, and there's consequences for not making enough money. The player cooperates with their uncle, who praises them for taking up the family business. The player character arrives at a run-down gas station on a dusty stretch of Route 66, buys it, and sets about renovating the place. Although it was once virtually unknown, Gas Station Simulator is now one of Steam's latest big hits, drawing in thousands of fans interested in owning and operating their own gas station.Īs is the case with many simulation games, Gas Station Simulator does exactly what it says on the tin. Gas Station Simulator is a particularly good example of how simulators can make it big. Games like these thrive on Steam simulation is fairly popular with indie developers, and it's easy for them to upload their work to Valve's storefront. Developers have come up with all kinds of twists on simulation, from the richly detailed Farm Simulator family of games to the infamously wacky Goat Simulator. Running around felt fun to get things done. The simulation genre is a vibrant one. What it does well: Puts you in the owner sim of a gas station. Hey I get it, where most older gas stations exist but would like a greener area or option. Better cleaning tools or at least a way to highlight where things are dirty and what can or cant be clean. Maybe freeze time option as well for placing stuff that requires precision. Dont allow the user to leave the store if those items can only be in the store. Things I would prefer that were there before release: Snap tool option for shelves and other items in store. Why does it feel like a chore to do the simplest things while it is really easy to do the complex things. Started over, got to the place shelves and now more annoyances. Frankly, being open for deliveries is not a "real" world requirement and should be noted in the game if it is a requirement. I dont know if that is a bug or feature but it left me with no money to buy any gas and so was a failure. Driver showed up, literally jumps out of truck, walks forward, turns around gets back into the delivery truck and left. My first game failed because I ordered a refill of gas, shutdown the station because I thought why not. I think this game has great potential for future support especially on the console market where there is a lack of this genre of game, I hope it is continually supported with additional content and quality of life updates, if not its still a pretty fun experience suited towards anyone who likes managerial games. It would be nice to see my employees restock shelves for me ( I don't know if they actually do or not as I keep them stocked myself ) it would also be nice to see them maintain the paint on the buildings. There are some bugs, mostly issues with AI but I have not yet encountered anything game breaking, I think the buildings may weather slightly too fast but this appears to be cosmetic only and has no effect on your businesses, the in game PC can be a little hard to navigate without highlighting what you are currently looking at on some tabs without a button prompt so I accidentally took out a loan in game. So far I've put about 12 hours in and I am enjoying the game, there is a distinct lack of business managerial games on the PlayStation and so So far I've put about 12 hours in and I am enjoying the game, there is a distinct lack of business managerial games on the PlayStation and so this fills in that role, I really like the concept of the game and I really hope it will be supported down the line with future content and quality of life updates, I think the price you pay for it is probably fair.
